4th Generation
The 4th generation of home game consoles, commonly considered as having began in 1989 with the release of the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16, and ending in the period between 1993 (release of the 3DO/Jaguar) and 1996 (release of the N64). Possibly the generation with the 2nd highest amount of potential for EOPs, considering the hardware capabilities of this era contrasted with the relative lack of interesting programs for much of this period's systems.
