Fujitsu FM Towns Marty
Operating Systems (AMD 386SX)
DOS, Windows 3.1, 95 OSR2, Towns OS
Various operating systems that ran on the FM Towns computer that the Marty is based off. All hypothetical possibilities.
Emulation Nest
This device runs an operating system which is known to emulate various devices with EOPs. See the FM Towns series page.
FM Towns Car Marty OS
The Car Marty's OS included a navigation system, multimedia playback, GPS, and other things that make sense for a car entertainment system.
Stock BIOS
A quite feature-filled BIOS for the time (even released before the Sega Saturn), coming with a CD player, file editors, copying, calendar, and more.
Internet
BB System
allowing avatar chat and bulletin board system
This was apparently only available for the FM Towns Marty 2, despite how the 2 was a minor revision, hardware-wise. Furthermore, the racketboy link describes a “TC Marty” revision which apparently came with a 2400 baud PCMCIA modem, plus a printer port in the console's expansion slot! This should probably go in revisions.

Version & Revision Guide
For general information, see the Game Console Revisions Overview.
Versions
This guide has been essentially depreciated by the excellent work of our friends over at consolemods.org. It is linked below.
https://consolemods.org/wiki/Marty:Marty_Model_Differences
There are two versions of this console, arranged chronologically.
“FM Towns Marty” (1993-1995)
BEST RELIABILITY; LOWEST PRICE
The only meaningful home variant of the Marty, although a FM Towns Marty 2 exists. White top, CD tray with a little black pill area on top, 2 controller ports, and so on. The Marty 2 changed nothing about this except making the top black, and enabling the usage of some online web portal.
“FM Towns Car Marty” (1994-1995)
A version of the Marty meant to be ran within an automobile. Quite innovative for being the first in-vehicle multimedia player, complete with a GPS function. However, they’re presumably quite rare.
Revisions
There are no revisions within the FM Towns Marty, and two revisions within the FM Towns Car Marty.
FM Towns Car Marty revisions:
“MVP-1” (1994-1995)
The stock and default configuration of the Marty.
“MVP-10” (1994-1995)
BEST RELIABILITY
Identical to the MVP-1, except it’s fixed some sort of problem with the disk drive. It’s also extremely rare.
RECOMMENDED OVERALL couldn’t be assigned.
