Releasing in March 1991 in it's various markets, the CDTV was a miserable failure: overpriced, undersupported, and badly marketed. Based off the Amiga 500 computer and coming with a Motorola 68k, upgradable 1MB of RAM, and 320x200 output with 4096 colors (or 640x200 with 16 colors), it's quite a miracle that Commodore managed to make a sort of followup to this.
