Commercial Kitchen Order Systems
A very unique and obscure category of device. These serve the purpose of relaying order information from one segment of a restaurant's staff, to another. Typically, they are purchased by large fast food and chain restaurants, and are utilized by the kitchen “cooks” who do simpler things such as preparing appetizers or ingredients. At least, that's my best perception of it. Due to the small space this category covers, the “x86+DOS or Linux” pairing shown is presumably one of the only ones in this sphere.

Within the listed videos are some good quotes, outlining the lightweight RAM, expansion slots, difficulty in accessing the underlying DOS install, info about Linux and other such supported OSes. Still available to purchase as new, also.
