+Microsoft's 3rd console, and their first confusingly named one. Releasing on November 22nd, 2013 for much of the world, the Xbox One's AMD-made x86 APU and 8 GB of RAM (12 on One X) was pretty capable, certainly holding a candle to the PS4's hardware. However, it's safe to say that this was not enough for the One to beat the PS4, as Microsoft refuses to release sales figures for their console; industry analyst's estimations range from 40 to 50 million units sold - significantly less than the PS4.

The “Slimline” revision of the Xbox One, which surprisingly changes some of the internal hardware, albeit not by much. The back I/O is the same, minus the Kinect USB port, and the side USB was moved to the front. Furthermore, the HDMI spec has been upgraded to 2.0, the Wi-Fi speed was enhanced, and the IR blaster became integrated with the system. Lastly, some minor hardware upgrades allowed adding HDR + slight performance improvements. There is an “All-Digital” version of the S, which is completely identical except for it’s lack of a drive. Since these are still being produced, they may have the best reliability simply due to having fresh parts. The “Slimline” revision of the Xbox One, which surprisingly changes some of the internal hardware, albeit not by much.  A major hardware upgrade to the Xbox One system. When it comes to I/O and physical/exterior appearances the X is the same as the S, although the X is smaller and lighter in color. However, the internals have been drastically upgraded, adding RAM, CPU/GPU power, and more. Of course, this results in a more expensive device overall. Outside of this, the X functions the same as the S when it comes to games, the minimal amount of EOPs, and so on. The limited “Project Scorpio” edition Xbox One X may have issues with it’s drive, so avoid it. A major hardware upgrade to the Xbox One system.
