+Sega's true first entry into the home video games market, being a (mostly) Japan-only system. Releasing July 15th, 1983, the SG-1000 is quite similar to the Master System with it's Zilog Z80, 256x192 output resolution with 16 colors, and 1KB RAM. Accomplishing little, the SG-1000 was enough to convince SEGA to release the Master System, known in Japan as the SG-1000 Mark III, worldwide.

+Here, the console combines hardwired and detachable controllers, with the 1<sup>st</sup> player’s controller being hardwired, but the 2<sup>nd</sup> being detachable through a secondary port. This console has a distinctive saccharine blue stripe on the front, featuring the SEGA logo. Controllers are similar to joysticks. May not have native Game Card support.

Lastly, a keyboard addon is now available through the front, making the II closer to the SC-3000.
