It has a complex OS compared to other devices at that time
Whatever this thing’s OS runs off, it’s quite advanced for a pager, practically functioning as a PDA alongside it’s normal paging functionality. Since it’s from 2001, one can assume it’s a very “deluxe” pager, coinciding with the phase out of the general public using them.
