Something that’s “designed to look like a file manager”, whatever that means.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/95/9513.html

Capable of executing and manipulating files.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/135/13500.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/181/18156.html

No idea what the functions of this thing are.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/396/39637.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/404/40489.html

Some BASIC only Windows clone, which the creator claims was quite challenging.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/277/27744.html

EZOS 2.0
Fast Shell

It must be fast, and it has some menus.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/127/12752.html

Ginny OS Beta 3

Pleasing looking OS with actual greyscale.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/206/20659.html

GPShell

Has two versions, with the Lite version obviously containing less. Menus , item creation, etc.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/357/35728.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/396/39630.html (lite)

GroupOS

Categorizes programs by what they do, instead of their file type solely.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/226/22660.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/279/27946.html

Lin4Ti

Simple and silly clone of a Linux shell.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/310/31047.html

No features described, but it apparently has a graphical interface.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/260/26005.html

Interface reminds me of some sort of PDA or phone. Seems alright.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/421/42163.html

NL OS
Nostub Explorer

Comprehensive file explorer, but it doesn’t like BASIC programs.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/209/20961.html

Orage Shell

Very fancy and nice looking shell with various functions and icons. Reminds me of the Amiga for some reason.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/339/33918.html

PC emulation (potential)

Whether these emulators support operating systems for these computers is unknown; it must be looked into further. PCs without meaningful OSes are not included.

Sinclair ZX Spectrums – Tezxas

http://tezxas.ticalc.org/

PCTools 0.97B patched

Patched version of an advanced file manager supporting plugins, nested folders, etc.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/405/40506.html

PedroM 0.83

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/319/31951.html

PRAGOS

The obligatory clone of the classic Windows UI.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/117/11759.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/350/35090.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/379/37939.html (developer)

Great looking shell, but it doesn’t do much with existing programs. Practically functions as an OS.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/105/10510.html

Punix
So far the kernel is being written, and user-space utilities and applications will follow.

This OS is highly comprehensive, detailed, authentic, and sufficient for serving as a Unix-like. Almost complete, but there are known build issues. Remarkable work for this calculator. Note: this is primarily aimed at the TI-92+

https://github.com/abbrev/punix

RedHat Linux TI89

Clones the typical functions of a Linux install. Looks relatively coherent.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/336/33685.html

sh`L

French-only shell with greyscale dithering, compression, loading files, etc.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/266/26600.html

Comprehensive file explorer, with support for many formats and languages.

Tinix OS

Icon manager, program manager, and more. Looks pretty good for crummy TI OSes/shells.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/150/15035.html

TI Shell

The usual menus, “square environment”, and taskbar at bottom.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/226/22671.html

TSNL

Even more cloning of Linux shells. French only?

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/262/26251.html

Ultimate Shell

This has a dithered background for something.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/118/11887.html

Visual OS

Reminds me of an Apple Newton or something. In reality, it’s supposed to be cloning Windows.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/90/9086.html

WIN 89

The most basic Windows clone of all time.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/144/14498.html

French only Windows clone. Can launch ASM, basic, ppg…

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/280/28022.html

Nice dithered background, and of course it actually does some things.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/67/6752.html

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/251/25179.html

Internet Explorer

Not exactly able to connect to the outside world, but this is a comprehensive HTML file viewer.

https://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/156/15679.html

TI HTML

Yet another comprehensive HTML viewer.
