====== Sony PlayStation Classic ====== Sony's entry into the "classic" systems market. Releasing on December 3rd, 2018 for the world, the PS Classic's MediaTek MT8167A SoC and 1 GB of RAM is pretty powerful for a "classic" system, which comes as no surprise considering the increased power required to emulate the PS1. Because of this, the PS Classic appears to be the most powerful of the "Classic" systems out there. If you want to get the most capable "classic" system for homebrewed emulation and hacking, get this one! It's mixed reception means that it goes for quite cheap online (compared to Nintendo's offerings) - sales figures be damned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Classic ===== Operating Systems (MediaTek MT8167A) ===== === Console emulation (potential) === Whether these emulators support operating systems for these consoles is unknown; it must be looked into further. Consoles without meaningful OSes are not included. https://www.autobleem.tk/?page_id=398 https://www.reddit.com/r/PlaystationClassic/comments/g8ht0y/release_retroboot_11_the_lightweight_alternative/ Sony PlayStation 1 - stock Plus many retroarch cores, includes DS, Lynx, Amiga, PS1, and more === Windows 3.1, 95, etc. (thru DOSBox) === >OTG Adaptor (Multi USB) Quite like the [[eop:video_game_consoles-home:8th_generation:nintendo_classic_editions_nes-snes|]] systems, the PlayStation Classic can also run DOSBox, and with this, Windows! Both 3.1 and 95 have been tested as working this time, although I imagine 98 would work too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njSavgx4GFg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_lvPDGJgBA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEG1sby7gqs
